Our Review - O2-Deals Staff - Tue, 20/08/2013 - 15:17

Much like the HTC Windows Phones, the Huawei Ascend W1 moves away from the aluminium chassis and brushed metal look of the Samsungs and iPhones, and mixes up the mobile market with bold shapes and brightly coloured live tiles. The curved polycarbonate back sits nicely in the hand and is easy to grip, especially with its 10.1mm thickness, which sets it apart from many of its waifer-thin peers.

As an operating system, Windows 8 offers an engaging, customisable and fun user experience. With individually resizable live tiles and a larger selection of theme colours, you can really make it your own. Since Windows 8 has been optimised for dual-core proccessors, it will run particularly smoothly on the Huawei Ascend W1. The ample 4" screen has excellent viewing angles so whether you use your phone for browsing the web, reading messages and articles, or watching videos, you may find that you can't put it down!

It also boasts a 5mp camera with autofocus and flash, and 4GB of storage so you can listen to your favourite playlists on the go. Plus if you need more storage, there's a memory card slot for up to 32GB, and (not least!) an excellent battery life, so you can surf, message, read, listen to music and play games for as long as you like!

It's great to see some Windows 8 phones in a more affordable price bracket, and the Huawei Ascend W1 is a top phone if you're going for a slightly different look, are curious about Windows, or simply want a really enjoyable user experience.
