Rumours are already doing the rounds on the internet about the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 3 that should be arriving later this year. Most have focused on the size of the device which has been rumoured to be measuring in at a sizeable 6.3". We've got everything you need to know about Samsung's upcoming world beating smarphone/tablet hybrid right here at O2 Deals.
Arguably the most obvious rumoured change to the new Galaxy Note is that it will come with a larger screen. Two different sizes have been heard by different news outlets - one rumour pegged it at 6.3" which wouldn't be too far off many of the smaller tablets out there that start at around 7". A more credible leak that Samsung has been developing 5.9" Super AMOLED screen implies that we'll be seeing a more sensible, sub-6" screen.
How does 8 cores in your Note 3 processor sound? Good, because that's what you can expect when it launches later this year. It's likely to clock in at 2GHz with at least 2GB of RAM backing it up. We haven't heard anything about the possibilites of the graphics card (GPU) but we'd expect it to be a pretty chunky monster if it is going to be powering a 5.9" HD Super AMOLED screen, the next version of Android and promises to bring something new to the table.
On the features front, there's plenty of room for Samsung to improve and innovate. As the only manufacturer to include a stylus (or S Pen as Samsung would prefer you to refer to it) there is plenty of scope for them to develop new techniques and set themselves apart from the pack. Samsung S Voice could certainly do with some improvements if it is to beat Apple's Siri offering.
As with all these things when nothing official has been announced by the company, we've got no official info to work with. We'd be very surprised to see the Note 3 costing more than £600 for the handset outright though as Samsung are likely going to be releasing it near iPhone season at the end of 2013.
Some sources have pointed out that the sheer logistics of developing such a powerful device with a new, larger screen means that there will be more than a year between the launch of the Note 2 and the Note 3 as they use the time to innovate. The very earliest we would expect to see anything from Samsung would be the third quarter of this year as they get their production lines set up.
Fingers are crossed here at O2 Deals in the hope that we'll be seeing the Note 3 on O2 by the end of the year. There's been no official word on whether this is the case but you can only live in hope. We'll be sure to update you as and when we hear anything about a launch on O2.
We'll post any videos and screenshots we find of the upcoming device here for you to see if we find any. for now though you'll have to make do with the launch video for the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 - still one of the best phones on the market and well worth looking at if you want a top of the range bargain before the launch of the next generation.
